Handmade by Jana, these gorgeous hummingbird dangly earrings each feature a hummingbird enclosed in a fine curb chain loop, drawing attention to the beautiful birds within and adding length and shape. Our hummingbird dangle earrings have so many pretty details to appreciate: a tiny hand carved tiny beak, wondrous wings, and terrific tail feathers - officially called 'retrices' bird fact fans.
As with all our jewellery, these long hummingbird earrings are available in your choice of recycled precious metals, so you're in charge of how the final piece looks. Hummingbirds are so talented. They can fly left, right, up, down, backwards, and even upside down. They can even hover by speedily flapping their wings in a figure-8 pattern. Don't worry though, the birds on your hummingbird statement earrings will stay firmly put!
Eight species of hummingbird have been identified as being critically endangered, including the stunning blue/green Dusky Starfrontlet and the beautiful Sapphire Bellied hummingbird. This means there is a 50% chance these birds will be extinct in the next ten years. Supporting and donating to charities such as Friends of the Earth and the WWF can help their conservation efforts to protect hummingbirds and other endangered species.
